At-home whitening
- Intake and intraoral scan for custom whitening trays
- Check of the fit and instructions for use
- At home, you wear the trays with whitening gel, usually for about 2 weeks
- Short check-up after the whitening period
This allows the whitening process to be gradual and controlled. You determine the pace yourself, within the guidelines.

The laser does not whiten the teeth itself: that is done by the bleaching gel. The laser activates the gel and helps achieve a predictable result in a short time. We can also use the laser for sensitive teeth after whitening.
What can you expect?
The result varies from person to person and depends on your initial color, the type of discoloration, and the chosen method. Usually, the teeth become several shades lighter. Whitening is not permanent: the effect usually lasts a few years. Proper brushing, regular check-ups, and less coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking help to maintain the result longer. Sometimes a short refresh treatment is needed later.
Good to know
- Fillings, crowns, bridges, and veneers do not become whiter. Sometimes a restoration needs to be replaced after whitening to achieve an even color. We discuss that beforehand.
- Very dark discolorations, for example after an accident or due to certain medications, respond less predictably.
- A clean set of teeth gives a better result. That is why we often combine whitening with a professional dental cleaning.
Who is teeth whitening suitable for?
Whitening is suitable for adults from 18 years old with healthy teeth: no untreated cavities, no active gum inflammation, and no large leaking fillings in the visible area. As a precaution, we do not whiten during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How much does teeth whitening cost?
Professional whitening costs €380, both in the practice and at home. Are you not a patient yet? Then you start with an intake (€57.01), in which we assess the health of your teeth.

Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, under the supervision of a dentist, with professional products and with a healthy and clean set of teeth. Possible side effects are temporarily sensitive teeth and sometimes slight irritation of the gums. These are usually mild and disappear within a few days.
Does whitening hurt?
During the treatment, most people feel little to nothing. Afterwards, your teeth may be temporarily sensitive. If necessary, we adjust the schedule or recommend a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
What is the difference between in-office whitening and home whitening?
In the practice, you see results in about 30 minutes. Home whitening progresses gradually, over approximately 2 weeks. We choose together what suits you. The price is the same.
How long does the result last?
